This publication was produced to accompany the exhibition Startle Reaction at Dundee Contemporary Arts in association with Film and Video Umbrella. Startle is the first monograph dedicated to Torsten Lauschmann’s engaging and multifaceted practice. It looks beyond these exhibitions to celebrate an artistic imagination whose inventive embrace of new (and old) technology offers both a spotlight on the past and an intriguing glimpse into the future.
