About the edition

Printed media (newspapers and magazines) is an ephemeral way for a culture to transmit information and to tell its stories, reflecting the changing nature of such narratives. Using this material in collage enables me to attempt to articulate my own intimate experiences via a collective language. These two prints explore the ‘language’ of private moments, made on a public stageKevin Hutcheson

Collage provides both the material and philosophical basis of Kevin Hutcheson’s practice. He makes work that attempts to record time and reinterpret experience, using imagery and text taken from a range of printed sources to explore different questions of both personal and cultural history, of context and narrative.
