About the edition
We are pleased to present a limited edition print by Maripol, I knew I loved u, commissioned in conjunction with her DCA exhibition.
Derived from a page in her sketch book from the mid-1970s when she first arrived in New York from Paris and made using the materials she had available - a silver highlighter, a black marker pen - this sketch had been kept by the artist and was photographed by DCA Curator Graham Domke during his visit to Maripol's studio, then selected by the artist as a starting point for her edition.

About Maripol
Legendary Polaroid artist, fashion designer and stylist Maripol exhibited in Scotland for the first time for the DCA exhibition Spring / Summer 2015.
Charting the iconic work of Maripol from the late 1970s right up to the present, this exhibition presented fashion, art, film, photography, sculpture, jewellery and prints together. From Fiorucci to Marc Jacobs – and from Madonna to Grace Jones, via Basquiat, Warhol and Keith Haring – Maripol has exerted a huge influence on fashion, photography and art for nearly 40 years.
Born in France, but based in New York since the 1970s, Maripol is renowned for her work styling and photographing iconic figures in the 1980s art scene.
