About the edition
Following the group exhibition Continue Without Losing Consciousness Tony Swain produced a series of new editions for Dundee Contemporary Arts.
Starting with a non-referential title and a group of collected images that were altered and cropped through a collage-like process, the artist then turned them on their side further abstracting them from the original source. The image was then re-printed using layers of colour and texture suggestive of newspapers or ephemeral facsimiles, leaving us to reconcile the surfaces and remaining imagery into our own version of a narrative.
