About the edition

Participants in one of DCA’s first Print Studio residency projects, The Yes Men have collaborated with us to produce a series of original screenprints that depict the McRevolutionaries – a series of fictional characters that suggest a hybrid between a well know fast food chain mascot and historic revolutionary figures.

Inspired by the Yes Men’s spoof presentation at the Serious Games conference in Birmingham, these prints urge the message of potential for great change in a simulated ‘game’ of global industrial policy. Their missive is that, as in historic situations of extreme need, popular pressure can create a revolution and trigger change in government legislation.

About The Yes Men

"Notorious mischief-makers the Yes Men are an activist duo known for their outrageous interventions at business events, on the internet, television, and in the streets. Armed with nothing but thrift store suits, the Yes Men impersonate big-time corporate evildoers in order to draw attention to their crimes against humanity and the environment, helping to raise awareness and build public pressure for change." The Yes Men, 2015

The Yes Men’s award winning films include, The Yes Men and The Yes Men Fix the World and most recently The Yes Men Are Revolting. Their work has been shown in the Whitney Biennial, the Venice Biennale, ARS Electronica, and many other art exhibitions. They are the recipients of numerous awards, including Creative Time’s Leonore Annenberg Prize for Art and Social Change, the United Nations Association Film Festival Grand Jury Award, and Best Documentary Award at HBO Comedy Arts Festival.

They are the authors of several books, articles, and they lecture internationally on art and social change. They are the founders of a non-profit, the Yes Lab, and the Action Switchboard, an online platform for generating real-life direct actions in the service of social movements.
